About 68,000 persons including senior citizens are utilizing DDA sports complexes in Delhi on a daily basis. The DDA has developed 15 sports complexes, 3 mini sports complexes, 2 golf courses, 22 multi-gym in green areas and 32 play fields till date. 

The DDA will be developing 4 sports complexes i.e. at Sector 8, 17 and 19 in Dwarka and Sector-7 in Narela, a football stadium at sector 19 in Dwarka, a golf course at sector-24 in Dwarka and mini sports complex at Bank Enclave along with 20 play fields in different parts of Delhi. 

Several facilities are being provided to senior citizens and women at the DDA sports complexes e.g. at Siri Fort Sports Complex, yoga practitioners, including senior citizens and women, had asked for indoor facilities which have been provided. 

The suggestions of senior citizens to permit grandchildren below 5 years of age to accompany their grandparents to DDA sports complexes free of charge and for allowing attendants to accompany senior citizens while walking at DDA sports complexes free of charge have also been accepted by the DDA. 

The membership of DDA complexes are given at concessional rates to the Senior citizens of above 60 years of age. The facilities at the sports complexes are also available for women. 

This information was given by Mr Kamal Nath, the Union Minister for Urban Development in reply to a starred question in Lok Sabha today.
