Mr. Bahuguna also met officers of Railway Ministries


Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna called on Union Minister of State for Railways H  Muniyappa at rail Bhawan in New Delhi and urged him to expedite process of all the railway projects proposed for Uttarakhand. Mr. Bahuguna also met officers of Railway Ministries and stressed on extension of Dehradun-Kalsi and Rishikesh-Dehradun railway lines, electrification of Lakshar-Dehradun railway lines and extension of all the stations between Haridwar and Dehradun so that 20-coach trains could be operated instead of 13-coach trains.
 Mr. Bahuguna also discussed about construction of Khatima-Sitarganj-Kichha-Rudrapur railway lines under Northern-Eastern Railway and requested for expansion of  railway services at Kathgodam and Ramnagar besides widening of Tanakpur-Bareily railway line. The other points that were placed by Chief Minister Bahuguna included construction of Kashipur-Dhampur railway line, increase in the number of reservation centres at Uttarkashi, Tehri, Vikasnagar, Sitarganj, its adjacent areas and all the cities in hill regions. He also laid emphasis on constructing railway crossings at 9 prominent places in the State.
Chief Minister Bahuguna seeking present status of all the proposed railway projects for Uttarakhand urged the railway officers to hold meeting in this regard at Dehradun. Mr. Muniyappa apprised Mr. Bahuguna about the ongoing process of appointing Advisor for Rishikesh-Karnprayag Railway Project.
