State Government had allocated 8 acre land at Sahastradhara Road for the rehabilitation of 116 Tibetan refugee families.

Dehradun, 21 May:
Gyari Dolma, Home Minister, Central Tibetan Administration, Dharmashala, Himachal Pradesh, called on Chief Secretary Alok Kumar Jain at Secretariat on Monday and discussed issues relating to the rehabilitation of Tibetan people.
It may be noted that State Government had allocated 8 acre land at Sahastradhara Road for the rehabilitation of 116 Tibetan refugee families. Chief Secretary Jain directed the officials to constitute a Committee headed by District Magistrate and officials of MDDA and Tibetan Relief Committee as its Members. The Committee would ensure distribution of residents to already identified Tibetan families.
Chief Secretary Jain told Ms. Dolma that 2,000 people could be rehabilitated by properly utilizing the land. He said that multi-storey buildings could be constructed in this land by preparing a layout through an architect. He said that state government would extend all possible assistant in this direction, and in keeping with the direction of the Central Government, advance fund would also disbursed at the earliest. Secretary Revenue after scrutinizing the matter would disburse amount in two installments. Chief Secretary said that low cost flats could be constructed in 3 acre land which was already in possession of Tibetan Relief Committee.
Gyari Dolma, who is also the Vice President of Dalai Lama Central Tibetan Relief Committee, presented a shawl and the latest book written by Dalai Lama to the Chief Secretary.
